Hidden Murder

Hidden Murder (Spanish: Parecido a un asesinato) is a 2025 Spanish psychological thriller directed by Antonio Hernández and based on Juan Bolea's novel, featuring a cast led by Blanca Suárez, Eduardo Noriega, Tamar Novas, and Claudia Mora. The plot centers on Eva (Suárez), whose seemingly joyful life with her new partner, writer Nazario, and his teenage daughter is shattered by the relentless harassment of her abusive ex-partner, José (Noriega).

The film was produced by Sunrise Pictures alongside several Spanish companies, with participation from RTVE and Amazon Prime Video, and was shot in both Valencia and the Pyrenees in Huesca province. It premiered at a special gala during the 73rd San Sebastián International Film Festival in September 2025 before its theatrical release in Spain on October 3, 2025. Reviews were largely positive: HobbyConsolas praised it as a solvent thriller with a "good" rating of 70 points, while El País highlighted a "phenomenal" performance by Tamar Novas in the film's improved second act, drawing comparisons to classic '90s psychological thrillers like Cape Fear and Sleeping with the Enemy. Despite some criticism of stiff dialogue and uneven early scenes, the film delivers a tense, stylish thriller experience that capitalizes on its atmospheric Spanish locations and strong central performances.
