Napheesa Collier (born September 23, 1996) is a WNBA star for the Minnesota Lynx, a co-founder of the Unrivaled basketball league, and a two-time Olympic gold medalist with Team USA (Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024). After being denied a spot by a local AAU team, her parents started the Lady Warriors for her to compete, and she drew inspiration from fellow Jefferson City, Missouri, legend Maya Moore. At the University of Connecticut, she helped lead the Huskies to the 2016 NCAA Championship, reached the Final Four in all four seasons, and joined the elite 2000/1000 club (2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds) while earning the Katrina McClain Award as the nation's best power forward. Drafted sixth overall by the Minnesota Lynx in 2019, she was named WNBA Rookie of the Year. Beyond her scoring and rebounding, she also serves as vice president on the Women's National Basketball Players Association executive committee, showcasing her leadership both on and off the court.
