Sean Duffy

Sean Duffy is an American politician and former reality TV personality serving as the 20th U.S. Secretary of Transportation since January 2025. Before his cabinet role, the Wisconsin Republican represented the state's 7th congressional district from 2011 to 2019, and he briefly served as acting NASA administrator in late 2025. His path to politics was unconventional: a champion speed climber and professional lumberjack, he won multiple titles at the Lumberjack World Championships before appearing on MTV's The Real World: Boston in 1997. After earning his law degree, he worked as Ashland County's district attorney before unseating a long-time Democratic incumbent in the 2010 Tea Party wave. He resigned from Congress in 2019 to care for his newborn daughter, later co-hosting a Fox Business show until President Trump tapped him for the transportation post. Confirmed by the Senate on January 28, 2025, Duffy brought his working-class, outdoorsman background to a role overseeing the nation's infrastructure and aviation systems.
