Sal Maxwell Stewart (born December 7, 2003) is an American professional baseball first baseman and third baseman for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). After a standout high school career in Florida, he was selected 32nd overall in the 2022 MLB draft and signed for $2.1 million. He quickly rose through the minors, winning both the Southern League MVP and Top MLB Prospect awards in 2025 while also representing the Reds at the All-Star Futures Game. Stewart made his MLB debut on September 1, 2025, against the Toronto Blue Jays, recording his first hit off Chris Bassitt, and hit his first home run on September 6. In 18 games that season, he batted .255 with five home runs and eight RBIs, and he was subsequently named to his first All-Star Game in 2026. Off the field, Stewart is a devout Christian who says his dream is to glorify Jesus Christ, whom he credits for giving him all his strength.
