Basilio Montes (born in Herencia, April 20, 1955) is a prominent Spanish musician and composer whose career spans over four decades. He began his musical journey in 1980 by co-founding the band Garage in Alicante with Carlos Goñi, and later became a key member of rock singer Ramoncín's backing band from 1984 to 2000. Alongside this, he led several other groups, including El Club de la Noche (1985-91), The Satellites (1989-91), and The Privados (1991-95) with Elena Tovar, while also collaborating with the legendary Madrid rock band Tranquilitos. As a composer, he co-wrote songs with renowned artists like Ramoncín, Manolo Tena, Carlos Goñi, and Juanma Roldan, and he also served as artistic producer for his own bands. His entrepreneurial side emerged when he founded the production company Box Music (1995-2000) and its brand, the Circuito Nacional de Música en Vivo, which organized hundreds of live concerts across Spain featuring major acts such as Rosendo, Los Rodríguez, Extremoduro, and La Polla Records. His extensive discography includes solo works like Nómada and Dos Vidas, as well as notable albums with The Privados (Al Fondo del Corazón) and Ramoncín (Como el Fuego), solidifying his legacy in Spanish rock history.
