The International Clown Hall of Fame and Research Center (ICHOF) is a museum and archive in Baraboo, Wisconsin, dedicated to preserving clown history and celebrating outstanding performers. Founded in 1986 in Delavan, Wisconsin—the birthplace of the Barnum and Bailey Circus—it held its first induction ceremony on April 23, 1989, honoring legends like Red Skelton, Emmett Kelly, and Lou Jacobs. Since then, it has inducted over 60 additional clowns from around the world and annually presents a "Lifetime of Laughter Achievement Award" to figures such as Willard Scott and Meadowlark Lemon. Notably, in 2004, the hall resolved a long-running controversy by officially inducting Pinto Colvig as the original Bozo, clarifying that promoter Larry Harmon had wrongly taken credit for the character. Beyond inductions, the center operates a museum with resident clowns, hosts special events, and maintains a national archive of clown artifacts and history.
