The Nasher Sculpture Center, which opened in Dallas, Texas, in 2003, is home to the extraordinary Patsy and Raymond Nasher collection of modern and contemporary sculpture. Begun in the 1950s, this world-class collection features masterpieces by celebrated artists including Constantin Brâncuși, Alexander Calder, Henri Matisse, Henry Moore, and Pablo Picasso. Pritzker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano, working with landscape architect Peter Walker, designed the $70 million facility, which seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor galleries. Funded entirely by the Nasher Foundation, the center played a pivotal role in establishing the vibrant Dallas Arts District adjacent to the Dallas Museum of Art. It hosts rotating exhibitions from its collection and significant special shows, although some outdoor artworks have notably faced challenges from reflective glare originating from a nearby building.
