Dune: Part Three

Dune: Part Three is an upcoming American epic space opera film directed by Denis Villeneuve, who co-wrote the screenplay with Brian K. Vaughan, serving as the sequel to Dune: Part Two (2024) and the final chapter in Villeneuve's trilogy based on Frank Herbert's 1969 novel Dune Messiah. The film stars Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, now the Padishah Emperor, who faces a conspiracy to dethrone him, with new characters including Jason Momoa as Hayt (a ghola of Duncan Idaho) and Robert Pattinson as the Tleilaxu Face Dancer Scytale. Villeneuve had planned this adaptation since promoting the first Dune film, and after the critical and commercial success of Dune: Part Two, Warner Bros. confirmed development in April 2024. Principal photography took place from July to November 2025 in Budapest and Abu Dhabi, with Hans Zimmer returning to compose the score. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States and Canada on December 18, 2026, marking the conclusion of Villeneuve's Paul Atreides trilogy.
