Mike Caruso (politician)

Mike Caruso (born September 14, 1958) is a Republican politician and businessman who served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2018 to 2025. He narrowly won his 2018 election by a margin of just 32 votes over Democrat Jim Bonfiglio, which triggered a mandatory recount. In August 2025, Governor Ron DeSantis appointed him to serve as Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller of Palm Beach County. On August 18, 2026, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced that Caruso was arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on charges related to child sexual abuse. Following the arrest, Governor DeSantis suspended him from his position as clerk and comptroller.
