Kick-Ass (film)
Kick-Ass is a 2010 superhero black comedy directed by Matthew Vaughn, based on the comic book by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. The film follows ordinary teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), who becomes the real-life superhero "Kick-Ass" and teams up with the vigilante duo Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and his ruthless 11-year-old daughter Hit-Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) to take down crime boss Frank D'Amico. Released in the UK on 26 March 2010 and in the US on 16 April, the film sparked controversy for its profanity and child violence but was well-received by critics and audiences, winning the Empire Award for Best British Film in 2011 and gaining a cult following. A sequel followed in 2013, and in January 2024, Vaughn announced that a third film, Stuntnuts Does School Fight, had secretly completed filming.
