Business Class Travel

Business class is an upgraded level of service offered by airlines and rail companies, typically featuring enhanced comfort, amenities, and privileges over economy class. It was initially introduced as an intermediate level between economy and first class but has become the highest level of service on many airlines that have eliminated first class.

Distinguishing Features

Business class seats typically offer more space, legroom, and recline than economy class. In long-haul flights, "lie-flat" seats have become common, providing a flat sleeping surface. Other features may include in-seat entertainment, gourmet meals, an extensive range of alcoholic beverages, and priority check-in and boarding. Meal service in business class is often multi-course, with higher-quality options compared to economy class.

Airlines vary in their branding for business class, with some using distinct names such as "Club World" (British Airways) or "Euro Class" (Scandinavian Airlines). On the environmental front, business class travel has a greater carbon footprint than economy class due to the increased space and amenities associated with it.
